Where is God in our grief and pain – does He see?  Is He with us?  Does He care?  The concept of human anguish before an almighty, all-knowing Creator stirs up confusion, anger, and bitterness in all of us.  Deep sorrow, overwhelming grief and chronic pain cancel out a place for God in the hearts of many.  Tormenting guilt plagues others, unable to find relief and freedom.  In suffering, many unbelievers validate their position while believers face an ominous crossroad.

Crushed By God was born during a time of intense trial as God allowed my life to be trampled and crushed.  Those that caused me harm are forgiven and so I cannot describe the personal loss, betrayal and deceit.  But I hope in this site to challenge believers and unbelievers  to see God in His unchanging eternal position – sovereign over all – while we continue to live in a world marked by illness, evil, tragedy and death.   While God sees us clearly, it is our view of Him that is grossly dimmed by sin and darkness.

It is my hope and prayer that we, together, can see the faithfulness of God and His unchanging covenant to us.  A step of faith for those who suffer may be the hardest, but the most precious.  Surrendered suffering to our Savior begins a walk with Jesus on a road, uncharted by us but fully guided and led by Him who promises:

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.  When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”   (Isaiah 43:2)
